Google Ads: Site Wide Tagging to track conversions from Apple Devices
If you have not already inoculated Google Ads against Safari’s ITP, Google has come up with two ways for you to add Site Wide Tagging to track conversions from Apple Devices.
Visitors using Apple devices may typically represent around 50-70% of all your web traffic. As you may know a new update preventing Google Ads from tracking safari conversions may means that you may see conversions drop off.
This year Apple rolled out it’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention, which means unless a user converts within 24 hrs of visiting an advertiser’s site after clicking on an AdWords ad conversion attribution will be lost.
BUT DON’T WORRY, you can either Install the global site tag (gtag.js) on your entire site or use Google Tag Manager to handle this.
